Jehovah"s Witnesses??

We all have had them at the door. These are my comments:

Jehovah does not have any witnesses, - No-one has seen God. Only Jesus, the son of God can declare Him to us. Jesus has witnesses: "You shall be witnesses unto ME".

A witness is some-one who has heard or seen something - whether he talks about it or not. John is a witness: "That which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled.......we declare to you (1John 1-3). John is a Witness!! And Jehovah witnesses are repeating hearsay, repeating what they read in a book, or heard from their teachers. Hearsay is not good enough!

Of course we also read a book, the Bible. In John 16 Jesus says that He will go away, but He will send a Helper, the Spirit if Truth who will guide us in all truth. He (the Spirit) will "take of Mine" and declare it to you. The Spirit, not the Bible, which appeared some 200 years later, but the Spirit of Truth is Gods way to guide you! And when the Spirit begins to reveal Christ to you, you become His witness. Something happens on a personal level. If you faithfully read the Bible and you do not have the personal "revelation" of Christ in your heart, you have missed the point.

There is a lot more that could be discussed. This, however is my re-action to the latest visit by Jehovah' Witnesses. Ok, they are NICE people and pleasant to talk with and they are not afraid to share what they believe. Neither am I! Your comments are welcome.

I usually don't say much to Jehovah's Witnesses. I leave that up to Paul, who seems to stop them dead in their tracks.

I agree with you Jen. Ron seems to love talking with them. He makes an appointment with them and then studies like crazy to find all the loop holes so he can get them thinking. I really hope that one day they would say, "you're right".

Jo-ann, you're right! I had JW's come this morning (Saturday). Thank God I had my cleaning gloves on so they could see that I was busy.
They said, "We just want people to follow the bible."
I said, "well, that's what we believe too."
I'm glad I didn't have to get in this deep debate with them.
